64th Year of the Longest Non-Stop Canoe Race

The AuSable Canoe Marathon is always the last full weekend in July. If you want to rent a boat for that Saturday, you must reserve well in advance. Carlisle Canoes is just downstream from the "starting point" so all of the canoeists are still packed close to each other trying to get that vital front position. These photos are taken near the start of the race.

Business Relay Race

The business relay race is always on Thursday evening before the start of the Marathon Race. The business relay race is a fun, friendly competition between local businesses and their employees. The race started on the other side of the bridge downstream and racers paddled up stream to the Old AuSable Fly Shop, where we then relayed off the canoes to the other 2 people who then paddled back down stream to where their partners started from. This year we had a little business rivalry with Borchers (another livery in town). May the fastest paddlers win!
